When does PlayStation 5 Release?
The PS5, both Standard and Digital Edition, are scheduled to be released on November 12th, 2020, for North America and on November 19th, 2020 in Europe and the UK.
What is the difference between the PS5 Standard and PS5 Digital Edition?
Here are the key differences between the Standard PS5 and the PS5 Digital Edition; The most obvious is the aesthetic. The all-digital edition shows a slimmer figure but that’s because the Standard PS5 has a built-in 4K Blu-Ray disk drive. As such, physical titles cannot be used with the all-digital console.
Can you play PS4, PS3, PS2 and PS1 games on PS5?
With the PS5 backwards compatibility, PS4 games will work perfectly on both edition of the PS5. The PlayStation 5 also supports cross-play between PS4 and PS5 players and allows PS5 players to use PS4 saves as well. PS4 controllers will also work on PS5 but with a small catch, they will only work when played with PS4 games on the PS5.
From the launch date, PS5 owners will be able to pick through a PS4 +4000 titles library and most will work with PS5’S boost mode – making those favorite game of yours even better with enhanced performance and higher resolution.
It was confirmed by Sony that the PlayStation 5 will not natively play PS1, PS2 and PS3 games. However, many older games are available digitally on the PlayStation Network so you can keep playing your favorite classics.
